progressive candidate congressman ed markey. if he does run against ed markey, there does have to be a primary. the primary will take place on april 30th. interesting question, right? would a primary for that seat help the democrats' chances of sending another democrat to serve alongside elizabeth warren in the senate, or would it hurt the chances? and who would have a better chance at winning, ed markey or stephen lynch? on the republican sid of things, there is still no word as to whether or not this guy on the right here intends to run again after elizabeth warren beat him by eight points back in november. still no word from scott brown other than -- which scott brown tweeted late at night on scott brown, 2010 in that special election is the only time since ed brook in 1972 that massachusetts has elected a republican to the senate. and not since 1994 in the gingrich landslide when two slipped in have massachusetts elected a republican to federal office of any kind. >> and there is a reason why. and the state is getting more blue, not less blue over time. >> right. >> let me ask you about a

to the president of shell, to ed markey, who will likely be the democratic nominee for john kerry's senate seat, for now, he is the top dog on energy issues. he writes "conversations with alaska at the national weather service don't back up shell's claims regarding the weather forecast. while shell cited a two-week good window of weather, the national marine forecast only extends for five days, not two weeks. shell's rig operations only happen for two weeks" shell has not appear to do consult at all, after november. if they had been in touch with the weather service, they would have learned what actually was forecasted winds reaching 25 knots and seas reaching five feet. shell says they only moved this rig because of a two-week window of good weather. but the national weather service doesn't even give two weeks for weather, and what they did was the horribly bad weather -- what explains their rush to move that rig when they did? well, in this letter, congressman markey raises another potentially explosive issue. quoting "it does appear that they could be at risk. shell could have potentially be

the recent debate, that would have been the waxman-harkin bill, the -- markey bill, the last one we had, the estimates -- and this is interesting, going all the way back to the coyote kyoto treaty, the cost is between $300 billion and $400 billion a year. that's $300 billion or $400 billion a year and i do something in my state of oklahoma that i suggest that the presiding officer may do in his state of west virginia. i count every year, you get the figures on how many families are in my state of oklahoma that file a federal tax return and actually pay federal taxes and i do the math. if you're talking about $400 billion a year and i don't think anyone -- i've not had one person argue with that figure that i've been using for over ten years now. but if you do the math, that means each person in our -- my state of oklahoma it would cost them about $3,000 a year to do it. the interesting part of this is you don't really accomplish anything by doing it. now, this same agenda at the e.p.a. under authority he's claiming is under the clean water act is -- has got to be something we're going t
